COLLEGE CHANGES NAME TO KAPLAN COLLEGE
Merrillville, Ind., Nov. 30, 2006 - Kaplan Higher Education today announced that Sawyer College has changed its name to Kaplan College, as of Nov. 15, 2006. Sawyer College has two locations in northern Indiana, Merrillville and Hammond.
To celebrate its new name, the Merrillville location will host a ceremony today at the campus, located at 3803 E. Lincoln Highway from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. The ceremony includes an open house and the unveiling of the new Kaplan College sign. The Hammond location will host a renaming ceremony on Thursday, December 7, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the campus, located at 7833 Indianapolis Boulevard, Hammond, Indiana.
By changing their name to Kaplan College, both schools will be formally recognized as being part of the Kaplan family. Kaplan, Inc. is a global provider of education services, and its name reflects a long-standing reputation for excellence.
Both Kaplan College – Merrillville and Hammond currently offer four associate degree programs and four certificate programs in the fields of allied health and business.
