San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Moves to New Location

San Antonio, TX, March 29, 2005
    – To better serve its current students and accommodate rising enrollments, Kaplan Higher Education has announced that San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants has moved its San Antonio campus to a new 31,000 square foot facility located at 7142 San Pedro Avenue, Suite 100 in San Antonio.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially celebrate the opening of the new campus is scheduled for today at 11:00 a.m.  Representing San Antonio Mayor Ed Garza’s office at today’s ceremony are San Antonio Councilmen Roger O. Flores (District 1) and Art A. Hall (District 8), as well as Ramiro A. Cavazos, Director of Economic Development from the City of San Antonio’s Economic Development Department.

SACMDA’s new facility gives the campus an additional 8,000 square feet and provides an expanded learning resource center to include additional computer terminals and workspace for student research.

“Our previous classrooms were housed in two separate facilities.  This move brings the entire campus under one roof making it easier for our students to access all of our campus resources,” said Art Rodriguez, President of San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants, San Antonio campus. “This new facility will support our growth and provide our students with an enhanced learning environment to better prepare them to meet the needs of employers.”

San Antonio College of Medical and Dental is one of the oldest private career schools in Texas that teaches allied health programs.  The college began operating in San Antonio in 1966 and has prepared thousands of students for careers in allied health and business.

SACMDA has two locations in Texas, and offers students a wide range of career-oriented training in allied health, business and information technology.  SACMDA is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (A.C.C.S.C.T.), and is approved and regulated by The Texas Workforce Commission.

SACMDA’s San Antonio campus offers students seven different certificate programs in allied health and business, including: Medical Assistant; Dental Assistant; Pharmacy Technician; Phlebotomy/EKG Technician; Computer Network Specialist; Medical Office Specialist and Computer Business Systems.
