Hamilton College Affiliation Creates Enhanced Opportunities for Students
Lincoln, Neb., February 2, 2004 – As part of ongoing efforts to enhance educational quality and opportunities for its students, Lincoln School of Commerce has announced it is changing its name to Hamilton College – Lincoln. In doing so, the school becomes part of Hamilton College, a proprietary career college that originated in Iowa in 1900 and is the state’s oldest continuously operating college specializing in business education. With four campuses already in existence, Hamilton College is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission, a Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA), which also accredits four-year universities such as the University of Nebraska, Creighton University and Bellevue University. Both Lincoln School of Commerce and Hamilton College are part of the higher education division of educational services provider Kaplan, Inc.

Established in 1884, Lincoln, Nebraska- based Hamilton College – Lincoln offers Associate degrees in Accounting, Business, Computers, Criminal Justice, Medical Assisting, Office Technology and Paralegal and diplomas in Travel and Tourism. Students participate in clinical training and internships. In addition, the School’s Information Technology Program is officially recognized as a Microsoft IT Academy. Hamilton College – Lincoln’s Career Services Office offers students assistance with resume writing, career searches and job placement.
