Cedar Falls, IA, September 3, 2003 – Hamilton College, a Kaplan Higher Education school, announced plans to develop a new campus facility in Cedar Falls Industrial Park. The two-story, 30,000 square foot facility represents a $3 million investment by the private, for-profit college. Offering a 50% increase in space from Hamilton’s current facility at Thunder Ridge Mall, the new facility includes 11 state-of-the-art computer laboratories, 11 lecture halls and a parking lot that accommodates more than 300 spots.
The student population at Hamilton’s Cedar Falls campus has more than doubled over the past three years – from about 300 in 2000 to more than 650 in 2003.
“This is truly a defining moment for our school and illustrates our commitment to current and potential students as well as the Cedar Valley community,” said Tim Cole, Executive Director of Hamilton College. “This is an exciting investment in our future and will create more opportunities for our students and faculty. Additionally, we anticipate robust growth going forward.”
The new campus is will be located at 7009 Nordic Drive. A groundbreaking ceremony will be held at the new location on Friday, September 5, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. The new campus will be constructed by the Tjarks Company of Cedar Falls, Iowa.
