Bauder College To Host 26th Annual Fashion Show And Exhibit On May 20, 2004
Atlanta, GA, May 13, 2004 – Bauder College will showcase emerging fashion and one-of-a-kind hand-crafted designs in its 26th annual design competition, Kaleidoscope, on May 20, 2004. The event will feature the creations of talented Bauder College graduates and senior design students, who will vie for top design awards given by a panel of judges including special guest celebrity Phillip Bloch. Showtime is 7:00 p.m. at the AmericasMart Penthouse Fashion Theater, located at 250 Spring Street.
Notable brands such as Donna Karan, Baby Phat, Ecko Menswear, and Tiffany and Co. have all tapped into the Bauder College talent pool for their respective public relations, technical design, merchandising, styling, and management needs in recent years by hiring fashion design and fashion merchandising graduates. Prominent Bauder alumnae include bridal wear designer Melissa Sweet and Miss Georgia 2003 Erin Haney.
Phillip Bloch, celebrity stylist to the stars and special guest judge for the evening, is often referred to as Hollywood’s “Fashion Guru.” He has styled clients of such familiar faces as Nicole Kidman, Halle Berry, Jessica Simpson, John Travolta, Sandra Bullock, Faye Dunaway and Drew Barrymore, among others. Bloch is the author of Elements of Style, appears regularly on MTV’s “House of Style – Mission Makeover,” and serves as a guest correspondent for CNN, ABC, E!, Style network, Access Hollywood, and Entertainment Tonight. He was recently appointed eBay’s Voice of Fashion where he will post regular online trend alerts and style columns.
