Kaplan University’s Mason City Campus Hosts Graduation Ceremony for 40 Students Friday

MASON CITY, Iowa, Feb. 13, 2009
—Kaplan University’s Mason City campus will host a graduation ceremony on Friday, Feb. 13, for 40 students. The ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. at Music Man Square at 308 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City. Dr. Anita Micich, superintendant of the Mason City Community Schools, will keynote the ceremony.
Students will be recognized for earning bachelor’s degrees, associate degrees or diplomas in one of 13 programs in the business, information technology, criminal justice, practical nursing or allied health fields. Upon graduation, students may be eligible for entry-level positions in their field of study. According to the Iowa Occupational Projections, a report by the Iowa Workforce Development, Labor Market and Workforce Information Division, medical assistant positions are expected to increase by 30.6 percent, paralegal positions by 29 percent and licensed practical nursing positions by 23.8 percent from 2004 to 2014.
“I am proud of our graduates who have worked hard to overcome obstacles in order to achieve their degrees,” said Joe Albers, president of Kaplan University’s Mason City campus. “We look forward to seeing them apply their confidence and new career skills to employment opportunities throughout the community.”
